Baptism is an important event where you become a member of the Christian family.
At a Baptism we accept God’s love and make promises to turn away from sin and turn towards Christ. We promise to do our best to follow Christ and put his words into action. Through Baptism we enter into a relationship with Jesus, who promises “I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20.
Baptism is the beginning of a journey where we commit to a life in communion with God and the Christian community. It is the start of a journey where we grow in experience and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Preparation

Infant Baptism
Once you have been contacted and you have filled in the Baptism form you will be invited to a baptism preparation morning held at the church at 10:30 – 11:30 on Saturday mornings. At this meeting we will explain the meaning of Baptism to the parents and godparents. During this time, we can review the Baptism form with you and answer any questions you may have.
Adult Baptism
You will be invited to meet with a member of the church to discuss your faith journey and Baptism. Typically, you will attend a course to prepare for your baptism. The course is 6 weeks either in person or via zoom. For those that wish to move on to confirmation we ask that you take another 10 weeks course, again in person or via zoom, before sharing a confirmation service with a Bishop of the Diocese of Oxford. Baptism Service
The service can take place on Sunday at 12 noon or as part of the 10am Eucharist.
