Celebration 2007
In 2007 the Church is 150 years old! A comprehensive series of events have been running throughout the year, culminating in a Mission Weekend on the 1st to the 4th November.
Celebration 2007 - The Mission Weekend
The weekend began on Thursday 1st November with a Patronal festival service in church. The Preacher was the Rt. Revd. Stephen Cottrell, Bishop of Reading. The Bishop then visited our Church schools on the Friday and many of us enjoyed a Thai and Indian buffet at a local restaurant in the evening.
On Saturday the Earth Balloon was in church - as you can see from the photos it was an impressive sight! Over 400 people came to experience the inside of the earth and find out about our Christian response to issues of sustainability.
Sunday saw our Confirmation Servce with many people of all ages becoming Confirmed by the Bishop into the Church of England. In the evening Canon Norman Brown preached at a Festal Evensong bringing the weekend to a close.
